My gf and I would like to increase the water flow in our 30 gallon solana. What powerheads would you all suggest for this tank? Preferably a small/slimline design to avoid clutter in the tank.

Thanks,

Brandon

Well the best 3 powerheads IMO are:
1. VorTechs
2. Tunze
3. Koralia

I don't have enough money to afford the top 2, so I just go with Koralias. I always try to stick with just 2 Koralias per tank, as any more and you get the clutter feeling.

Though if you have $420 left in you budget, definately go for 1 VorTech MP40 which would give you 88x circulation in a broad, dispersed, gentle yet high volumw flow (perfect basically).

I woud save up and get the vortech. I might be going with the MP20 rather than the 40. not sure if you really need the 40

Wow. I like what I've read on the MP20. It's not too expensive. I think we will go with that one. I will probably wait until the weekend to order one so if anyone has any alternative suggestions, please let me know.

We went with a Tunze 6025 and mounted it to the back wall with the magnet stuck in the sump. It's great!!!!

6025 and MP20 are both really good choices. The vortech's wave modes and feed mode is the deal maker for me!

I agree. I really want one but it was $65 vs. $300

We will definitely get at least one when we set up our 120 though :)
