As stated, how suitable would a 159L tank be for an adult Snowflake Moray? I recently had a Ghost Eel (White Ribbon Moray), but he decided to leap out of the tank. The aquarium is now secure, with a piece of tight fitting acrylic along the top. The recommended minimum is 55G, could i push it slightly (Mine is a 42 US Gallon, 36"L x 18"H x 15"D)?

Thank you,
Adam.

I have a two foot eel in my 210, can't imagine it in a 40 or a 55...

would you consider something smaller, like a green wolf eel blenny? not a true eel, but a very cool eel-like fish with a lot of personality, and more in scale with what you have.

Not really Lisa, i've looked at one of them before, and i've never considered purchasing anything other than a Moray Eel. I guess it's back to another Ghost Eel/Golden Dwarf Moray. Thanks anyway. ;)

I understand. I have two moray eels AND a green wolf eel, not all in the same tank.

too bad there aren't more small eels available.

if you could upgrade to a 75, I think you'd be fine. really, IMO, an adult snowflake eel is not the best tankmate for a flame hawk or a fu manchu lionfish. not only is there a risk of the smaller fish being eaten, but also they may be outcompeted for food.

Good point Lisa, it will surely have a go at my 2" Flame Hawk. :)
