I would like to see AquaController (Neptune) embrace ZigBee (http://www.zigbee.org) in the future. I would like to see wireless monitors, that can be controlled from the PC or the web. We can just buy the monitors and controllers we want and not reply on a DC8 or DC4.
Texas Instruments (http://focus.ti.com/analog/docs/rfifcomponentshome.tsp?familyId=367&contentType=4&DCMP=TIHomeTracking&HQS=Other+OT+home_p_rf_if) and NEC (http://www.eu.necel.com/micro/technology/zigbee/index.html) have been very active on creating chips and controllers that run on ZigBee.
Neptune should look into the technology for the future of AC. I think it's the perfect technology for AC that can be linked to home automation (new Neptune business line?). If not Neptune, I think someone will plan on using ZigBee soon.
Here's a demo video: https://community.ti.com/media/p/2327.aspx
