Hi,all

I just have some time for this hobby again.
I 've already started my own medical-cosmetic business during employee working.
I've rared them for many years.
and I have seen some changed of polyp-color.

Do ya think about them?:p

My Zo's expansion were small , I rear them under sunlight about 13.00-16.30 ,another time is light from the sky and 20000 K 150W MH Lamp with 2 actinic T5 Bulb after dark for maintainace my tank.
My tanks is very shallow about 10 inch only , I think more shallow of water column = more small polyp?? I don't know it's true or false , how can Someone explain in a theoritical way?

Thanks everybody kraze3 , Chromiumlux , 1mbrews8 , holdyourlight.

This kinds of zoa. are very expensive here in Thailand ,it's IMPORTED !!! But in Thailand there're some beautiful zo like the lower of my first pic. in first post ( Red tentacle with black/yellowgreen skirt ) is locally collection and that's very nice .

I use actinic Bulb for take my photography with Camera-White Balance Custom Adjust to make white spot become white , some photoshop correction for white balance error due to mismatch of lighting source , and then we can see true color of fluorescence that I have seen them in my tank>> Yo!!

I wish to live in US also, many color zo's are around there . I 've seen many zo's pics here , it's all amazing that I never seen in Thailand also. It might be a good idea when you come visiting thailand in future , we could exchange our frags.

this one is nice too, I called it pinky-black myself , I just sold them out because my tank is full. But I have small one left in my tank.

Thanks for comment , mystery reef and holdyourlight.

I've mention this like unreal color before , but I must say "It's real Color!!!! in my Situation ( Plenty of Actinic Light and a little of daylight)" , If you don't believe my picture , I cannot show any other way but try it yourself . Close your MH and bring your actinic turn on , and then take your photograph with setting custom white balance .( This technique need some little skil

l with your own camera - any camera can adjust custom white balance (canon) or preset WB (Nikon)) .
Or , if you or your friend living near me , you can come to proof by yourself.

in my PS
I adjust like this
Auto Color
Auto Contrast
(If color is seem in blue ,or red from WB error - I open Color Adjustment to reduce more red or more blue so sometime you can see yellow color and green yellow is the same )
and then Contrast+5
Filter : Reduce Noise
Filter : Unsharp mask
(if color saturation is much more than vivid nature , I reduce Saturation )
Add WaterMark
Resize
Add Black Frame

and Save for Web...

that's all..

You just try, Happy Reefkeeping. ^_^

haha, didn't know that you do post here too Doctor Yim, glad to see you here! It's me ! your beloved customer. HEHEHEHE

I didn't know that you like taking pictures too. We should go out and have a photographic trip together. Apparently, you need to get yourself a nice decent tripod and a macro lenses. Are you using d-slr? I have the feeling that you are using point n' shoot.

This is why your pictures lack or clarity on the edge of the objects. You need a tripod, believe me (and a shutter release). Most of your pictures are a bit off-focus and blurry. Your KissX produces great color and sometimes it gives you more color that what it supposes to be. It's very normal in this Canon model. Get your self a tripod and parallel your lenses to the glass pane and retake the picture... you will be amazed.

For those of you who can't believe your eyes seeing these amazing colors....I can guarantee that the yimyim's zoas collections are truly vibrant in colors with or without the help of actinic bulbs. I guess this is the wonder of natural sunlight.

WoW , Great to see my little boy again , Thankyou Absolute Reef

By your advice , I need a new Underwater Scope that can protect my lens from sea water ( I shooting my zo from "above" the tank , not "in front of" the tank )

A slighly blur can occur , I didn't close my pump when I shooting pic. , and I use ISO 800 , F4 so my shutter is around 1/20-1/40 s ; The Blurring can come from 3 factors - hand shaking , movement of polyp from power heads , and back-front focusing

Thank you for your advice , after I brought my new camera with Liveview or Angle finder and a 190xProB or 055XProB Tripod I will have more clearer picture more than today.. ^_^

My Brothers Just tell me this morning ; "Your Tripod is broken and cannot work now T_T , it's time to collect money and buy new one."

thanks zoagirl and snapDragon , your admiraions make my life glad so much.

http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1226/4252212/21175017/347192023.jpg

PS; Blurring In the Edge came from Distance level of dimension by using macro tube and shooting very close to subject , Dept of Field with F=4 is about 6 -10 mm only , and I love it very much ...

I don't know what's the truth nickname of this zo Pic.
I call it EZ
But I found it has variant even in the same polyp , when light change - pattern and color change..

are you switching to Nikon dr.yim? if so, i can get you a very good price.
yes, 3 factors...you know it. slow shutter speed and shaking camera can be easily eliminated by using tripod. you can go with f/3.5 to get blur-back effect if you want. I thought so, you took your pictures through that clear acrylic pipe you made...haha. Your front glass is cover with coraline algae...yeah yeah I know.

I noticed that one of your zoa frag, which I just got it from you recently. It's the only frag that open up on the first day and then show some "not so good" sign later on. I just found out that it prefers lower intensity light which makes it opening up again...but not yet fully extended. I'll let you know more about it.

Oh , thank you ;
I think this polyp have a wide range adaptation , in my tank , it received indirect & direct sunlight and MH as you known, It fully open during daytime , I think it's light lover but somehow it need some adaptation before.

I know your tank system are better than my tank , I think it's not so hard to see how it'll work. But if it isn't get along with your tank , bring it back to me and I'll change for you ..

Absolute Reef

I think that we have very similar water parameters because 98% of the polyps (I mean polyp by polyp) that I got from you are now open...and growing! exceptional rate! I was quite surprised that there was one polyp that didn't open.

I checked again today morning and also moved it out of the shade and put it under direct light. I came home this evening and saw that the frag is about 90% good now.

your armor of god is doing well, opening and stretching for light ( i put it in a hanging algae basket on the side of the tank). not sure if I should glue it on a frag plug or not. I think I'll leave it there for 4 or 5 days and see. The base is now attatched to macro algae...very sticky but I think I can still pull it out without harming the zoa. what do you think?

yimyim
01/05/2009, 02:06 PM
That 's sound great !!!.

If I were you , I 'll put the armor of god with macroalgae to the rock base until there 're 2-3 polyps , cutting some protrude of macroalgae off , but left the base where that zo. attach.
after the zo are fully attach by itself then use a toothpick to remove macroalgae later , this will help the attachment of zo. and prevent deattachment from rockbase because macroalgae has higher attachment capacity ... But this technique required frequently trim off macroalgae before it spread to nearby area.
