I thought I would post a thread and keep track of my tank progress and growth. I just got a new camera for Xmas so here are a few pics. Tank has been set up and running since October-2008. Tank is a mixed reef, with very shallow sandbed. I have been involved in this hobby for 3 years and finally broke down and bought my dream tank. Looking forward to feedback and advice from everyone in this forum.

Lighting: Geismann Infinity 2 - 250 watt halides with 4 -54 watt actinics.
Skimmer:ATB Small
2 Vortecs
Aqua Controller III

Very nice and clean setup Alan.
Do you have the two Vortech's placed in the back of the tank?

Yes both Vortec's are on the back wall. The back is tinted black, and the powerheads blend in very well. I wanted to go with the cleanest look possible without any wires or cords showing. I am very happy with the way everthing turned out. I'm going to have to figure out how to post pics the right size. Sorry about that.

Nice set up:smokin:

Do you have a problem with the vortechs on the back wall and sand moving in the front? I can see them in the one pic and it looks like they move the sand a little?

Thanks. I will try and post some better pics including the sump later. The sand stays in place really well actually. I placed egg crate in the tank before I put in the sand and rock, so it keeps the sand in place really well. I get one spot in the back where the sand will sometimes pile up, but I just move it back every couple of days.

Thanks guys.

Hey Maximus, You recognize that tank?? You will have to come see it if you ever get to Fresno. The corals are really starting to take off. All the little frags that were on the rocks are coloring up nicely.

Very very envious... wish we didn't sell out of our 120XL... or it might look half as good as yours!

Updated full tank shot. I can't take credit for the photo. Weatherson took the shot yesterday on our club CVR Tank Tour. Thanks Joe for the shot

How does the azoo fans do for keeping your tank temps down?

They actually work really well. I have then hooked up to my aquacontroller, and when they go on the temperature starts dropping pretty quick. I'm sure during the heat of summer the chiller will be kicking on, but the fans do a great job thus far.

Fancy Alan , are you scared though that the fans will make your tank hover around your place? How is the evap with 8 fans

Right now it is evaporating about a gallon a day. I am sure that will go up at the hot weather hits. and the fans run longer each day.
