where can you get corals for less? i am looking for zoas.mushrooms, and some lps. the lfs around here charges $15 for 1 shroom,,$100 for one branch of hammer, and $50 for 3-5 dull brown zoas. i have looked at e-bay and found good deals , but the shipping is 10x the price of the coral:(

check your local reefing board. there has to be some local propagators willing to sell you stuff. most folks start off with easy softies. as they get more involved, migrate to SPS, or more delicate LPS.

you can pick up some nice pieces, on swoop, if your timing is right.

good luck

your going to be paying shipping for anything that's not local to you..your better off finding a local Reef Club to buy during monthly meetings or hit a frag swap in your area to get the good deals, otherwise the prices are just going to keep climbing. The coral biz is one part of the market that will never be affected by a bad economy

Also, a lot of soft corals can be shipped 2 day, especially zoos. If you buy from someone on the east coast you would be sure to get it in two days with Priority mail, and i think thats like $8.90.

Pacific East Aquaculture, a sponsor here has some really good deals, like 20 different zoa frags for $100, 12 frags of any kind for $99, 6 frags for $50, all they pick, but if you go there, they give you quite a bit of input... www.pacificeastaquaculture.com

Also local reefers
