Fish will ALWAYS beg for food and when you feed them they will ALWAYS behave as if the have been starving for 2 weeks :-)
I feed mine a small portion at lunch with a feeder (eheim feeder). I have 2 different compartments so one day the one sort the next day the other.
At night they get frozen food. That's all. Some people only feed once a day or every few days. It all depends what you've got in your tank.

What kind of fish? What kind of pellets? What is your filtration system like?
I feed my tank once a day, maybe once every two days. I only feed what they eat in a few seconds. But, I just have a pair of clownfish so I don't need to provide food for constant grazers like tangs, or specific diets like mandarin dragonettes.
