When is the time for collecting LR

I was just wondering cause I went LA web site they didn't have a lot of stuf in and livestockusa.org said that they wasn't collecting any LR at this time.

While many collecting areas have various shutdowns at different times (Ramadan used to cause shutdowns in Indonesia) there is no single reason that would cause LR to stop being collected everywhere at once.

I suspect that you are just seeing the yearly thing between around 12/20 and 1/3 where the airlines often will not accept fish shipments due to holiday travel. Likewise, many overnight carriers, who send the animals to you get overbooked. Delayed and lost shipments become more common. Best to simply enjoy the holidays and save your fish buying for later (grin).

What Im talking about is the wab page are saying out of stock

Right, because they aren't receiving shipments of live rock, so they can't sell it to you.

I talked with a guy down in Florida about getting me some rock a couple years ago. He said in the winter they had storms and the weather was worse (75 degrees instead of 85, oh no!) and so he didnt collect until summer time.

Might have something to do with it, if they were having storms lately in the area of collecting, the rock collection might suffer for up to a couple months.

The big problem down here is the water temperature drops pretty drastically. The Gulf gets up to 90 in the summer and is in the high 60s right now, so if they are diving for it it would make a huge difference.

So I should expect them to have more in this summer?

I would guess after the holiday season settles down you should have no problems ordering online. This time of year is tough to ship stuff around, especially large, heavy items like live rock.
