Hey everybody my tank has been running for about 6 months now. the shrimp died a couple months ago but its been bothering me to know why. Especially now that I'm converting it into a reef. The only fish I had at the time was a green clown goby. I checked everything both times and both times ph was 8.1 nitri.0 nitra. 0 ammonia 0. My first thoughts were copper but I have hermit crabs and snails that are doing just fine. I acclimated both of them( I tried with a second one 2 weeks later) for 2 hours. Was that not long enough? Thanks everybody

I doubt you will ever know exactly why, there are just so many possible causes, from something as simple as old age to viral pathogens. Sorry.

What do you think the chances are that its copper??? I'm worried about that now that i'm converting it into a reef.

Has the tank ever been treated with copper based medications? If so, then before you keep inverts you should have done a complete water change, but for now you could simply test for copper to rule that out or not.

Am sure there are many online sources (stores) that carry them. Marine Depot / Live Aquaria and places like that.
