I am currently using the RK Elite, and like it so far. I got it for future expandibility as well as the 100 feet you can run bus cables. I also like the separate modules for ph/temp etc. I have done only basic programming so far, but will be doing alot more with it. Easy to program, and no problems with it so far.

according to the comparison chart,http://www.aquariumcontrollers.com/aquarium-equipment-comparisons.php
it seems the rke has more potential. i am open still for something other than the rke until my return is in the bank. where is a good place for more info on the profilux and who has the best deals on them?

Another vote for the RKElite. Like you said, the potential for new modules is limitless. The thing I like best is your not stuck running all your wires back to a single box. Having it modular makes where you install your equipment and probes much easier for me. The RKLite may also be an option for you.

RobbyG's comparison chart is a good way to compare controllers.

Best price Ive seen on the RKE is at Aquacave- its lower than MSRP, plus RC5 code gets another 5%- totals about $445 for a full package. I got mine on the auction site @ 35% off with MS cashback(no longer available) and an ebay coupon I had :)

Profilux has fairly frequent beginner package specials, cherrycorals.com is one(only?) US retailer.

what about the Aquatronica unit.
funny u mentioned it LOL.

I bet half of the profilux recomendations don't have one.

I've used aquatronica for over two years and the controller is easily expandable and works(period). Plus tons of expert advice right here in case of a problem or mishap.

excellent controller!~

I run, and love, an Aquatronica.

There are features on it that other companies just don't offer (Like dosing pumps), and they really are continuously asking for advice on what to produce next.

Great controller, great support, great expandability.

I've been using a Profilux for the past year and have had Zero issues and great support in getting any questions answered. All the extra benefits as mentioned by oldimpala above too.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of them ( Prof or Aqua ), it all depends on your needs.
