going to buy some ro/di or distilled water, live sand, saltmix, rock, and filter tomorrow. Setting up a 20g. $$$ for corals and lights at the moment is making me do a fowlr tank. After im down with school in december im setting up a bigger tank and doing a reef.

Some of you old guys will get a kick out of my tank, its a throw back one. Slate bottom and all.

Fish list at the moment looks like a dwarf zebra and a leaf fish. Going to plant some macros like shaving brush and mermaids fan to try and avoid the barren look of some fowlr tanks.

(before im flamed im gonna buy the smallest dwarf i can find and the tank will only be up until dec. If he does somehow start looking cramped in that time frame ill sell/give him away)

Ive heard about the slate bottom tanks, but never seen one. do you have any pictures you can post? It sounds like a fun project. My first sw tank was a 20 gallon as well

I don't even have a digital camera lol, ill round up someones for some pics when things get going.

Paypal kind of ****ed me off though, the money i was going to use today STILL hasn't transfered to my bank so I'm stuck waiting longer. If i knew it was going to take 5 days for the money to transfer i would've just told the guy to mail me a money order instead of having to set up a paypal account.

you'll run into that a lot with this hobby. best advice i can share:
1. be rich with $ or rich with patience... you'll need both
2. nothing good happens quickly and nothing bad happens slowly.

keep us updated. what type of lighting?
