I've notice some info in the past regarding the correct positioning of the nipple of a SE bulb. Does anyone know if it matters?

Actually in the paperwork of most 150w DE bulbs it specifically says to point the nipples up. Also a test was done and bulbs have ever so slightly higher par with them pointed up. I believe one bulb maker even says color can shift with them pointed down.

Now the kicker, most 250w de bulbs are manufactured so the nippes point down *LOL*

So in short, guess it does not matter as the mod said :D

He asked about SE bulbs, not DE. I thought it did matter especially with the Reeflux bulbs?

Higher Par reading with nipple down its been tested over and over. Main reason is you don't get as much of that coating inside everywhere its mainly in the nipple which allows more light out.

Ha! I read for the first time ever that the nipple was to go up. So I posted only a few days ago - and multiple people confirmed nipple up. I have a SE Radium which is kind of hard to make the nipple up because you can't screw it in all the way.

Now some of you are saying nipple down. Go figure... sometimes I'm not sure the difference from my [violation]
