what is a false sand bed? one that looks like theres sand in the tank but not really there? like a false wall in the back of a tank?

i found it searching faux sand bed. its pretty much a bb with a sand look.

very neat idea but, the sand will evenually become covered with coraline algae. there is no way to scrape the algea off the sand bed.

yeah! you´re right! that´s why i've never seen a picture of a tank with the false sand bed, and a logic reason is the coraline!

There was a cool thread where they used epoxy over the sand, it was scrapable since the epoxy levels out dries into an even flat sheet. As long as the epoxy was clean you couldn't tell it was there. Any algae however will make it apparent that is not real.
