I bought this as a ritteri but the more i look at it the more i think its a bta especially since it went to the the bottom of the tank in a low flow area and the tips seem somewhat inflated at times. i bought it on saturday and its still going through its acclimation process. it has a purple base and light green tentacles. sorry about the pictures theyre the best my camera and i do. if you guys can tell by the pics that would be sweet, thanks.

In addition to joe1584's advice.
When using photobucket you need to click "post reply" not quick reply. Paste the IMG code (coppied from under photo in your album in reply.

see where it says "img code"

click on the text below that and it will copy it. Then you can paste it into your reply.

could you get a good picture of the column? also, is it attached to the rocks, or to the sand?

Don't need a pic of the collumn on this anemone. It's a BTA / E. quadracolor

damn thats what i was afraid of. oh well at least i finally learned how to post pics. thanks for the help and patience:) so what are distinguishing characteristics of a ritteri then? i thought the purple base was a give away.

The base of BTA's are found in several different colors. Ritteri/magnifica don't have the white lines that extend outward from the mouth like BTA's do. Like the ones your anemone has.

That is what some people call a tricolor BTA. Nice anemone regardless. It will look different once it settles in and starts thriving.

It sticks up like this. No white lines like in the BTA.

Just a side note: flickr isn't garbage. you can post jpg images just the same as photobucket. Sometimes when you copy and paste the url to the image, though, you need to truncate it after "jpg" because they have other viewing code on it. Or you can "view all sizes" and copy the link at the bottom of your picture.
