I just bought an aquac ev180 for my tank after doing a lot of research on skimmers. But after reading even more, I think I overlooked the noise factor. I've heard varying testimonials from people about this skimmer but my question is, how loud is it when its up and running? I want a DEAD SILENT (or as close to humanly possible) tank. I know there are some mods for it so I'm curious as to how loud it is with and without the mods.
I can still return the skimmer so please respond!
Also, if this isn't the skimmer for me, what would you recommend for a silent, good skimmer for $400? The tank is a 40gallon long with a 20gallon sump.
Loudest thing on my tank right now is my eheim pump and I want it to stay that way.
