So I got my finished lumenbrights and 400w dimmable ballasts today and am very happy. :)
I'm running Radiums and have the ballast dimmed halfway down and still burned tips on several corals after 4 hours. I even have the bulbs 20" off the water. Mike warned me and I blew it off, but these reflectors do make a big difference from the LMIII's I was running. They are much brighter in the area they light up.
I'll be getting some par numbers Sunday so stay tuned....
Thanks again Mike!

they are amazing! I got a frag from a friend that was running 250w 12k bulbs in another reflector and when i put it in my tank ( same level) it started to bleach.
he just got new bulbs( same ones I have ) the same time i did too.

I finally got all of them hung up thanks to some help from pootang. They sure look pretty above my tank. Big thanks to Reef Specialty for turning me onto these. Pootang took these pics before he left.

WOW! That's got to be some intense light. I hope your fish have sunglasses.

I think the RBTA had 550+ with all the lights on. I'm guessing if I had all 20k Reeflux it would be over 650 there. A ton of light for sure.

Very Nice 120! I was wondering how tall your canopy is. Im in the process of building one for my 120 and was wanting pretty much the exact setup you have. Everyone is saying to get the bulbs 16 inches off the surface but how far up is that to the top of the reflector where it connects to the canopy. Also do you have any closeup photos of how you constructed your canopy, just trying to get some ideas, Thanks

I have a de lemenbright pendant right now and was wondering if I could retrofit it to accept a se radium 20k bulb?

I'm not sure that's possible bigmatt. Have you tried the DE Phoenix bulb? It's almost identical to a Radium.

Jugger,
ill measure them in the morning, got back from watching the ufc fight and forgot to measure it, i think its something like 14" off the water surface, but ill measure to make sure, and can take better pics of my canopy. I didnt want to go to huge because it would be so tall in my house, and the way i designed the front to hinge, when its open and resting on top like the pics, its like 4" from hitting the ceiling. With them at the distance they are, i get great light in all areas of the tank, and they dont effect the temp at all.
