I have a 6' long 150 gallon bare bottom set-up. I now have 2 6060s on one end and two MJ1200 mods on the other. I would like to go to as few powerheads as possible. Would I be ok with one 6200 on a controller or should I go with two 6100s on a controller.

Thanks

It depends on what you want to keep. If the tank is BB, i would go with 2x6200. Your tank is 6f long with 1 pump at each end will take care of your flow matter. But if your tank is for softies and fish please go with 6100

Unless you are buying used 6100 and 6200 haven't been available for nearly 2 years. The current models are 6105 and 6205. I would recommend 2 6105 if new or 2 6100 or 2 6101 if you are looking at used, they are all equivalent in flow.

I was referring to the 6100 and 6200 models for flow eqivalents. So, you think that the 6100s would be enough for a 6' tank? Could I mount them both on one end, or should I mount them one on each end?

1 at each end is better esp on interval II. But Roger may say something else :D

One on each end is a much better layout.

Thanks for your help. I picked up two used 6100s and they each have single controlers.

What will my disadvantage be of having the two single controlers vs. a multicontroler?

The main disadvantage will be the two pump will run on it own interval, you will still have the random flow but not the same as the multi controller where you can control 1 pump run 100% while the other run 30%. You may notice two pumps pulse at 100% at the same time or 30% at the same time.

You can go with what you have now and get the controller later.
