Hello all you Nano Lovers out there,

I have a 24Gal jbj Nano with a Tunze Skimmer. I am planning on restocking my tank. I have removed a few choice inhabitants and had 1 fish Jump. So, i am going to remove the fish from my tank, and let the Water column cycle for 2 months so that i can rest assured that there isn't anything in my tank that will kill my fish.

I have a skimmer, feed alot, and perform water changes every two weeks. 5Gallons every two weeks.

So, The tank will be Gobies & Blennies & a pair of Clowns, 1 Scarlet shrimp and 1 Emerald crab and 2 Brittle Stars.

With that said, how many Gobies could my tank sustain? I know there are a Variety of Gobies out there,Shrimpgobies, Sand sifting, Clowns, Neons. I suspect that gobies of the same shape are going to have issues with eachother. I love watching a pair of neons swim around. I am wondering how the list below would work. I will include the other inhabitants aswell.

2 Brittle Star - starfish
1 Emerald Crab
1 Scarlet cleaner shrimp

2 True Perculas
1 Citrinis Clown Goby
1 Green banded Clown Goby
1 Hector's Goby
1 Yellow Priolepis Goby
2 Blue Neon Gobies
1 Tail Spot Blenny
1 Midas Blenny

So too many of the same type together? also i am going to quarentine these fish. I have not done it before- i was thinking about using a 10Gal high tank...perhaps that is too small.
Thoughts...

Thanks, ALso i saw a Goby tank in the nano thread once but i cant find it and the seach function isn't working today yet.

C&C appreciated.

That seems like way too much! I wouldn't add more than 4 like posted above

Small size doesn't truly matter. Food intake, territory, not to mention waste. Your nutrient levels would be pretty darn high. For sake of argument pick 5 fish that you would want more than the others. Re-post the choices and we could diagram a more suitable tank stocking.

I agree with the above. I think 2 percs and 2-3 gobies max.

I got 3 fish in my 24...corals are way more fun anyway.

It will work.... just can't slack any and I think the two blennys might clash.

Also would probably ditch the idea of the brittle stars.

I have a 20 something gallon with these blenny/gobies right now...

2x ORA Tiger gobies
2x Yashia Haze gobies
1x Carribean goby
1x Stop light goby? Eviota something
1x Forktail blenny

Never really see them all at once which IMO is really cool. The tank has like a "full of life" thing going on with random fish poking their heads out randomly. Also they are stupid tiny compared to the tank size and maintenance done.

way too many fish.

+1 on the "pick 5" suggestion. I wouldnt go over 5 total.

food requirement on the Hector's' requires a larger, more mature tank.

I've seen tanks like this too. They are really neat. But I just seems to small. You know what I mean too. I wouldn't say clean it out but it has a few fish in that size of a tankk.

10 gobies in one is way too much IMO.

Way too much. I wouldn't put more than 4 fish in there.

Sure, you could probably make it work. But would the fish really be happy? It seems too crowded. No one would have their space which can lead to some pretty extreme grumpiness in some fish.

I think it's much too crowded. I'd pick 4 max. There's a difference between living and thriving, as many people say here on RC.

My tank is a 48" ~29g

2x yashia w/ randalls pistol (they stay in one little hole)
2x ORA tiger goby
3x Clown goby
1x Carribean blenny
1x Forktail blenny
1x Eviota "stoplight"? goby
1x Bullseye Jawfish

Everyone has their spot they like to hang out at and throughout the day all just cruise around on their own and no problems with aggression.

Still looking for a few other gobies to finish the tank.
