First thing I did with mine was sit it on the kitchen table and just marvel at it. Next i would say a prayer and put it in the tank and enjoy the power of Vortech.

Haha, just read the instructions, set up the pin spacer correctly, align and enjoy!

One thing I do once its running is when I go by the tank I touch the motor to see how hot it is. I run it on reef crest mode and so far its never been hotter then I can tolerate. Most of the time its just warm to the touch.

If there was such a thing I would nominate it the invention of the year.

And it'll keep getting better, lots of fun stuff in store for the future.

I was intending to buy 4 MP40s in the relatively near future for a gyre setup recommended by you and by Steve Hurlock who, as you know, runs an 8 MP40 gyre in his 1200g reef.

Should I be waiting for these new improvements, can you allude to any sort of time frame for them please?

Thanks!

I have the MP 40w hooked up for 4 days now and its amazing. there are really no stagnent spots in the tank except for one spot.
( opposite side of the pump on the bottom)
Im toying with idea of getting another one but its a 65gallon and only 36". I dont want the tank to have too much flow as I am getting about an inch wave now. any thoughts?

good god:eek: I think one should be enough, although with two you can dial them down a bit and get perfect flow:D

Jason

P.S. love mine on the 120 want another one

Jayson...do you have only one for your 120?

does anyone add any other power heads with the mp40's? for additional flow?

Yes i have only one not because I think its enough although it does a good job, but because I can't afford another one till I get my taxes in.

I have two in my 60 gallon and its nice because I can dial down the pumps to like 60% instead of having one going balls to the wall, should be less wear and tear on the motors. My tank is 24" wide, and I have them both on one side. Had to anti sync them, because in sync and I had water on the floor

...instead of having one going balls to the wall...

I prefer to run my pumps balls to the wall :)
