I recently added a fuge in my sump, with a clip light using a "plant bulb" that i got from a hardware store....

I'm suspecting the bulb is the culprit in the equation.....

what bulb should i be using in the sump?

thanks!!

Question, are you saying that you have cyano in the sump?, if so let it be, you want all nuissance algaes to grow in the sump and outcompete the ones you have in the main display for food, if you have cyano in the main display then thats another story, lights out for 3 days works wonders, let the sump do its work for a little while, lower the amount of food you throw in the tank, do a water change to lower phospates and nitrate, install a phosban reactor with phosban, if all else fails use chemiclean....good luck

thanks, I have it in both the display and the sump.

I'm using a phosban reactor with phosban and carbon.

Oh ok, then just do what i said above and you will be set, if the tank is new just let it go thru the cycle, the best thing is that you have a fuge now and just let it do its work.....
