Some questions...

1. Looking for a reputable online merchant that sells live sand. Considering a 50 (live sand) /50 (aragonite) mix for my 25 gallon tank. Need 55 - 70lbs.

2. Is caribsea a good brand, are there any others that are equally viable?

3. Lastly, what are the pros/cons of crushed coral and 'sugar-sized' sand?

Have done some research but would like input from peronal experiences. Thanks!

I got this live sand when I started my tank and will buy some more when I upgrade soon to a 75. It is just how it is described through his video....

Caribsea is a very good brand, i've never used anything else. There aren't really alot of cons of sugar sized sand, the only ones I've found is if it gets caught up in a magnet or some type of cleaner it could scratch the glas and it could get kicked up a bit if you drop anything such as a pump or rock. Crushed coral, I've never really experienced any cons with these but I'm sure there are some, I like to use a bototm layer ot regular aragonite sand and then a top layer of crushed coral. Looks nice if I say so myself :D

Live sand is a con. By the time you get it anything that was live about it is dead. You are much better off seeding sand with a small amount of true live sand from a fellow reefers tank. It will soon become live.
FWIW - crushed coral is a huge nitrate trap. Don't use it
