Im in the middle of switching tank and ran into a small problem.

My current ballast Coralvue 250w has 3 wires from it white black and green.

My new reflectors only came with a white and black. Do I need to use that green? I assume its the ground which kinda makes me wounder.

It would be a safer setup if you could find a way to attach the green wire to the reflector, provided your ballast is also properly grounded. It will function without the green though.

A screw to the reflector where I sand a little of the paint away sound good?

Thats all it needs?

And yes the ballast is grounded to a GFCI.

Yes your green is a ground, extend the wire and screw it to the reflector

I c alled Coralvue about this. They also sell these ballasts for projection TVs, and the ground is grounded to the cabinet. They said to not use the ground wire since the unit is internally grounded.

I would screw it to the reflector
