I hooked my ro/di unit in our mechanical/water closet and ran the ro/di water to a 13g trash can with a float valve installed. This system worked out perfectly for 3 months.

I went back to Ohio for a week for Christmas and wanted to make maintenance easier for my fish sitter so I removed the float valve from the trash can and rigged a 5g bucket between my two tanks with the float valve. Thus automatically filling up my ato container.

This became a great convenience!!! I love not having to fil the 5g bucket daily from the water in the closet. The only downfall is I dont have an easy source of water to make fresh saltwater.

Can I SAFELY run two float valves off my ro/di unit? use a 1/4" quick connect tee, have one line to the trash can with a float valve and one line to the ato container with a float valve?

Sounds plossible to me. Each float valve would be independent of the other. But, I am no expert.
