Emperor angel changing?

Can someone tell me what an emperor angel looks like when it starts changing? I woke up today to find my angel fish has lost a great deal of its color. It almost looks like it is sick but is eating and swimming fine. I have had it for about a year and its over three inches long. Thanks.

Had a juvi that matured. I would stare at it each day. What an amazing transition. Truely a gorgeous fish.

sudden loss of color, especially in patches, is a sign of stress and possible illness. check your water quality. it could be just going through the change, but if you could post a picture, it would be helpful.

If it's really faded, it could be more of a health issue. Has it stayed faded for more than a day or so? Any chance you could get a picture of it?
