berlin skimmer

what does everybody think about the berlin 250 skimmer? I was given one and thinking about setting it up. What type of pump should I use?

IMO throw it away and buy yourself something else. The berlins are a waste of electricity.

surely it has to be better the the built in skimmer that came with my pro clear aquatics 75 sump, right?

I mod this one,cut the top off turned it 180 glued it back on,added 2 - 3/4" ball valves,the pump was a mag 7.
It worked very good , lots of dark skimmate
I liked the drain on the collection cup,ran a hose to a lrg pop bottle

I had it on my 180 tank (in a sump) for 15 year, I set it so the bubbles were level with the top of the black plastic.I left 1 valve open adjusted the other.
