If I am not mistaken there is a way to hook an external battery pack for a battery backup so you won't loose your collected data? Can someone tell me where to purchase the battery pack or where I might find more info? I can't seem to locate this on Neptune

Thanks

We don't sell a battery pack, but instead we recommend that you get a second AC adapter. Plug this second AC adapter into a UPS, and that way the controller remains powered during a power outage and can still send alarm emails.

Isn't that the same as just plugging the main AC adapter to the UPS? Why a second one?

So that the AquaController can send email alarms and still be a webserver in the event of a power outage. If that isn't important then plugging the primary AC adapter into a UPS will work fine for you.

I now use a UPS, but initially I built one of these: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1407878&highlight=volt
It worked well for what I needed and used a 9v battery.

Perfect Drimo that is what I wanted. I could care less if I actually loose power, I am just tired of loosing all of my data. I can not for the life of me see why this was not taken into account with the internal battery, but that is cool. This is a way around it.

The parts needed for the 9v backup are listed in this post: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=12712106#post12712106

We sell them. Part # PS9 ($12.50). Or you can see if you can find a compatible one yourself. It is 9V DC, at least 200 mA, and has a 3.5 mm phono jack - tip is positive.
