The girlfriend wanted a 'Nemo' ever since I set up my tank, and I finally gave in. I was in the LFS (actually everything animal store) and couldn't resist this couple.

The problem I'm having is that they are tank raised (good) but they do not recognize anything besides flake food as food. They look at mysis and brine shrimp (what I normally feed) but are clueless as to what to do with it. I have some marine 1 and 2 flake, and they gobble that down just fine..

Guess I'll have to toss even more stuff in my tank for a while..

lousy pic... sorry... haven't gotten the hang of pics through 2' of water yet.

let them eat REAL good for 3-4 day (to make sure they are healthy, then, dont feed the clowns thier pellets for another 2-3 days. I will bet when they get hungry enough, thier instincts will kick in and start chowing on brine.

the flakes would be best for them imo, i agree that mysis is good for them some, but not at a every time feeding schedule.

good call on getting tank raised clowns! feed them small amounts, but do it 2-3 times a day while they are young imo.
they are still small- i might try to feed some cyclopeeze or something similar - (very small, but nutritionally rich planktonic crustaceans). What type of mysis are you trying to feed?

I would also consider starting to get some marine algae in their diet before too long- dont forget that clowns are omnivores. my clowns looove nori- frozen formula one and two are other viable options- just dice it up into small chunks that they can easily swallow (same goes for the mysis- especially if you are using something of the larger size).

I think the reason they recognize that as food is since they're probably ORA clowns they were raised on flake and pellet. They don't recognize mysis and stuff because they've probably never seen it. Don't worry though, it's not a bad thing :)

Careful making brine a primary food as it is less nutritious than many other foods.
