To properly treat your fish you must first properly diagnose the illness.
A freshwater dip is only effective against a few parasites, is useless against other parasites like Ich, and does absolutely nothing to fight bacterial, fungal, or viral infections.
Once you diagnose the problem you can begin an effective course of treatment, be it hyposalinity, copper, paraguard, maracyn 2, formalin, iodine, or just nursing the fish thru it's initial move stress with low lighting, a hiding place, and premium food enriched with vitamins and garlic.
It would be best if you posted over in the Fish Disease Forum (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=87) and try to give as much detailed information about the fish's behaviour, background, current tank, water parameters, timeframe, etc. to get the best diagnosis.
Best wishes!
