It maybe me... this is the second tank that leaks in less than one year. Please let me know if you guys have had leaks. I just got home today to find my tank 75gal leaking. I cannot figure it out from where as usually happens. Now I am affraid to go to bed and wake up in the middle of the night like it happened with the other tank 125gal.
I have no idea of what to do... any sugestions? I am just so scared... please help me... should I just give it all up???

Determining why is secondary at the moment although my initial guess would be the level of the tank (since it appears to have happened 2x now)

I would recommend getting the livestock out and placing in some rubbermaide tubs or possibly another tank if you have one. place a heater, powerhead and see if you can jimmy rig a hang on filter on it if you have one. Livestock can live indefinately in rubbermaid tubs if setup properly. Then your going to have to drain the tank. I too would not be able to sleep knowing I had even the smallest leak. Do you know where it is coming from? underside? Definately contact the store you got it from (if you bought it new) as it should still be under warranty. If not it can be repaired depending on where the leak is.This happed to me years ago. Was a good opportunity to get a bigger tank. Just wish it was under less stressful conditions. I feel for ya :( Best of luck

do have any idea if the leak is small it will hold on until tomorrow morning??? I am just so tired but so worried. My other tank 125gal had water porring everywhere and I am just so scared, and also scared of touching the tank, so I am just watching it... and praying that it will hold until tomorrow. Do you think that if the leak is small....it will hold???

Unfortunately it is impossible to tell. It could hold until morning. and then again...well, you know what could happen :( I can appreciate you being tired but I get the feeling if you decide to leave it...you are going to be up all night worrying. There is no way I would recommend leaving it until morning. We are talking about 75g. I'm sorry

I Put a peace of paper tower in the corner of the tank and it took 15 minutes to get the paper really wet. Is this s slow leak??

In the world of leaks I would say it is fairly slow. Remember though..right now it is slow. that can change in a matter of seconds. if there is a crack there is a trememdous amount of pressure on it as we speak. food for thought.

Please keep us updated on your situation. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and say a prayer.

That's not what I call a slow leak. You need to figure out where it's leaking from and get a plan together. I think depending on where it's coming from would determine if I would sleep on it or not.

well it is slow compared to (SNAP !) and water rushing everywhere...
but 15 mins to really wet a paper towel is a pretty decent leak
and no i wouldnt be able to sleap

+1 on the rubbermaid tubs and draining the tank

God Bless your prayers because between all of us our prayers are working... for the last 15 minutes the paper tower that I placed in the corner is dry and the leak has stopped. Thanks God. I am just praying to make through the night and a miracle because the leak is not leaking the tank has stopped the drips in the front where it was dripping and the papers that I put in the corners are dry. Thanks GOD. I will keep watching it for another hour or so, and if it stays that way, than I will sleep a little or at least try to...thank you so much for all the support... I was freaking out just to think that I would have to go through all I have been through by myself. I am a scared cat since that leak and maybe a sign for me to just give up onthis tank business... I guess this is a male's hobby:(

Leaks can be difficult to find sometimes. It could be something simple in an area that you do not expect. Hopefully the tank itself is not leaking.

It sounds like this is a used tank in which case the sealant might be too old and is now wearing out. You could patch it or just redo all the sealant but it would be a huge hassle and it might not work.

The best option is to go buy a new tank.

Since this is the 2nd tank you had leak, you might want to check your floor or if you used the same stand, then it might be the stand. If you see any gaps between the stand and tank, then your stand is warped and you need a new stand.

The only thing good from this is that you can now look into upgrading your tank size if you've been planning it.

good luck

when I was setting up my used tank for the first time, I had several different leaks, and all of them had to do with old silicone and old bulkheads that weren't installed properly. Not sure if either one of those is your culprit, but they are both cheap and easy to replace (although the tank would have to be empty to fix either one)
