Interesting. Perhaps hard to believe for you guys in the US, but I found this this little guy more than 2 days after the shipment arrived! Hard to believe so many people passed him by!

I picked up another identical piece which appeared to have started to RTN at one time (hopefully it has stopped). My intent to save it!

Think you mean if I can holds it's color. :)

I find australian wild corals require as much light as you can throw at them. Not to mention darker colours (IME) also like as much light as they can get. My intent is to phase this corla into high light in the near future.

That sounds about right for an aussie sps.I don't personaly agree with it,but you did get a better deal than paying $90 for a 1 inch ORA red planet frag.

Beatiful piece and rare,so that more than makes up for it.

Hey Tim. Ya 2 days after the shipment arrived I was pleased to see something I would want to buy! Small (maybe 2" x 3" in size) but the corals in my tank are growing like crazy these days.

Are you getting many aussie acro's out your way? I find they have some interesting pieces. Time for some more pics of your tank.

Already did that, actually by mistake really... I bought another piece that appeared identical (only that had RTN'd some but appeared to stop) and ya I dropped it when mounting it on a piece of liverock. So I added two of the larger pieces to my main display and put three pieces in the grow-out tank.

Interesting. The SPS are sold wholesale internationally for more than they are sold retail locally. Get your collector licence and we should chat :)

It did in fact. I was suprised to see such a nice piece 2 days after the shipment arrived. Feel free to post pics of your piece in this thread, would love to see it.

Having purchased many SPS since 2002, well the $100 price tag was fair to me, mainly because of the unique colour. Would have liked it to be a little larger, but it's colour and health sold me. In addition, it is an aussie piece so I realize they cost more than indo SPS. Indo SPS rarely if ever come in this colour.

Was pleased to see it essentially maintained it's colour over the month in captivity. Excluding a brief DKH spike when I changed CA reactor media types, my parameter have been steady.....would love to seen this baby grow quicker but what can you do.

My camera is a simple 6MP Canon S3IS...don't even make it anymore.

Raptor stag..............excellent name. Hope it continues to do well under my management :) And Marion will help, need a good boss behind the bench now to lose the under acheiving tendancies...good to see Bosh smiling again though.

Ok, finally a new "stick" that I actually do want!

BTW I totally think you should frag it up, yanno in case of tank mishaps you have places where you "invested" the coral and can get a replacement. Us California boys (and girls) have good luck with turning cool corals into weeds... ;)

FYI, I am keeping this coral high in my tank. Literally 6" below the surface with 400W radiums. They colour is real nice through the glass and spectacular when I look at it top-down.

I find the aussie acros like as much light as you can give them. I gotta get a pice of this a little lower in the tank so I can enjoy the colour a little easier.

Sounds like I should start a frag or two ;)

Im curious - which LFS did it come from? RR?
Ive picked up a few nice SPS there recently and its just like people are saying - everyone is obsessed with there acans blastos etc at the moment. Can be a bit hard to judge colour though as the bulbs over there tanks are so blue.
