Durso pipes....

I have a dual overflow setup with custom durso standpipes. The water falling over the overflows is making quite a bit of noise and i was wondering if I can raise the standpipes? What is the recomended height(difference between tank level and overflow level)? Mine is about 5" now.

Eyeballing mine, I would say the difference is 2-2.5 inches -- can't hear it at all -- though I do when I don't clean the algae off the inside of the overflow.

Mines at approx 1 1/2 inches. Silent.

Good to know. My drop is obviously too far. I will correct it this weekend and let you know how it works. Thanks a bunch!!
