Hi all, I always wanted one.. either AC3 Pro or AC3.

I'm offered to buy an AC3 Pro with all 4 probes and 2 DC8s for $600. They are about 3 years old. Do you think it's a good deal?

Please advise.

Jeff

the probes do not last 3 years. just a headsup. they last 6-12 months ussually. probably still a good deal, just saying.

I was wondering the same thing.. he said everything still worked since last week before he took down the tank

might still work, but probably not accurate.

just be aware the oxygen probe is like 4 or 500$... so yeah.

only ph, temp, orp and conductivity probes

Sounds about right, I just scored AC3 pro with temp probe for $360 US on eBay.

ah, didnt count the temp probe, makes more sense. still Id expect all could need to be replaced(besides the temp probe). I think the pro retails at 500 with temp probe and 1 DC8 and DC8 is 160, so sounds like 660$ new retail, unless the probes are newer than 3 years.

eh, its actually not that great of a deal put that way.

$500 is the price of the AC3 Pro with the temp probe only.
Each DC8 is $150
So you $800 new or $600 for 3 years old, that is the question.

The Pro temp probe will last years. It's the older sytle probes for that came with the Jr, AC3, and px1000 that fail easily.

so you are saying the other 3 probes are pretty much done huh?

hmmm I thought 500 got you 1 DC8, nevermind then.

the probes are almost assuredly done. and have been for years, so maybe he's replaced them? plus they have to be kept in buffer solution if he took it off 3 weeks ago, so if he didnt do that then no doubt whatever that they are toast.

up to you, your getting 2 free DC8s and perhaps a conductivity probe as well basicly, seems like a good deal. Id say go for it...
