Adding sand to an established tank

Hey everyone,
Can i add sand to an established tank. I want to add like an extra 20-30lbs. I would make sure its washed and put it in slowly to avoid a huge sand storm.

Yah man you'll be fine. Starts to get cloudy, stop and add the rest over a few days.

Yep! I put in about 10 pounds every 10 months using something that looks like beer bong "funnel with a hose attached".
