I currently have the following fish in a 120 gallon FOWLR (soon to be moved to a 260, 84" x 24" x 30"):
3.5" Emperor Angel
3" Tomato Clown
2.5" Purple Pseudochromis (not being moved to a 260)
2" Rectangular Trigger
I plan on adding the following:
H. Tusk or another Wrasse
Another Trigger (bluethroat or pinktail or redtail trigger)
Miniatus Grouper
And maybe a puffer
The puffer is where my problem lies. I want a porcupine puffer, but believe it will get too big for my tank (both physically and bioload wise). Thus I have to resort to the dogface puffer that grows to approximately the size of most of my other fish. However, I am not a big fan of dogface puffers. So, I am considering getting a smaller puffer, like a valentini or spotted puffer (or maybe both??). I don't have much experience with the smaller puffers, so I would like to hear your opinions on whether any of them would be suitable for the above tank inhabitants. Considering they grow to about 5", would they be able to stand up for themselves (like my tomato clown does)? Would I be able to get 2?
Are there any other smaller fish that would be ok long term? My tank looks empty right now since the fish are small. I would like to add some small fish that won't be a huge bioload when they grow and that would make my tank look more busy.
