When I moved to my apt a year ago, I wanted to upgrade my 20g to a 58g Oceanic. But because of a mishap at Petco, I didn't get the 58g in time for the move, and had to make do with an used 37g. A couple weeks ago, I got a great deal on an used Oceanic and finally got to set up my dream tank!

Here's the 20g from way back when, I have no idea how I managed to cram everything in there!

The 37g when it was first set up

The 37g a few weeks before the move

Still the 37g. The open sump area really bugged me, so glad the new tank doesn't have that problem anymore.

37g with the frag tank. The frag tank also had to be moved since they are plumbed into the same sump, and the tanks were moved to another side of the room - the most exhausting weekend of my life!

That's all for the old tanks. Moving on to the new tank!

Empty tank, daunting task
The canopy is not in use right now. I'll need to retrofit it first.

The sump is the first thing to get moved... a small pump is put in to keep the water moving until the plumbing is hooked up.

And this is the only picture of the actual tank move in process. After this point, I got too stressed out to take anymore pictures until after everything was set up.

Sand settling down, fish in tupperware, corals somewhere in the muddy water

And frag tank moved over the next day, plus the mess created by the tank move

It's been a week since the tank move, aside from experiencing a mini-cycle (from adding about 20lbs of live rock) with some diatom on the sand bed, everything's doing splendidly. More pix to come.

The frag tank is a custom-made 18g (18x18x12) with egg crates. The only inhabitant, other than the corals, is a PNG clown.

Nice 58. I had one for 2 years before I had to upgrade to a 90. Just ran out of space. My zoas were encroaching on my lps and sps...not to mention a third of the tank was covered in GSP

I don't really have a set time, whenever things start to outgrow the tank I guess :)

58G is the right size for an apartment, once we get our own house it will be a 100+ tank :)

awesome tank martin. About time you got rid of the overflow box from you last tank.
