View Full Version : Calcium test kit

I like the kit, but, there isn't enough Reagent A included. The test calls for 7 drops of "A." Having two tanks, I test each one weekly. Needless to say, I have run out of bottle A in 2 months of use, while the tube of the "B" powder is still 75% full, Reagent C is still 50% full, and Reagent D is still 75% full. So, I have a LOT of unused reagent which is now useless because there is too little of the first reagent, A, included. I am leaning towards buying this test kit again, but, it is expensive and I feel I got very little usage out of it before it was out. Have bottle volumes increased (A is 11ml in my kit) since I bought it 2 months ago, and if not, ElosUSA, can you suggest that ELOS increase the volume of the A bottle in the test kit?

yes I can forward on the info. Send me an email with your batch number off the reagent a bottle and your address and I will see if I have some to send.

Yeah, I also use the low resolution test and reagent A usually emptied out before any other reagent.

I reported this back to Italy and they are sending me reagent A to send to customers who email me about this issue and they are checking with our lab to make sure it is indeed a bottle size and not a filling issue on a few bottles. On the next batch we will have a larger reagent A to prevent this in the future. Thanks for the input and email if you are experiencing this and when I receive these refills I will send them out. Please include your mailing address and telephone number in the email.

It will take a little time for the new reagents to come in but if you have emailed me with an address (physical) and contact information, you will be contacted when I have the reagents here. Thanks.

In the meantime, I had ordered a Tropic Marin test kit. The results I get between the two are VERY different. The TM kit is telling me my Ca is at 480ppm (a bit high), but the Elos kit is testing at 630ppm (extremely high). Any explanation for the disparity?

What salt brand and salinity are you running?

1.026 SG, via refractometer, salt is Tropic Marin (not pro, just regular).
