Coralmaster.com <-- Best place for Frags in Canada IME

Fragalot.ca and Wickedfrags.com also have a nice selection

J&L is still the best place for dry goods, however Aquatic Addictions is close behind (AA had no website yet)

You guys should check out Ocean Corals Canada, located in Orangeville.

It used to be in Newmarket, but he just moved the store to Orangeville, since there are no other SW stores in that area.

George is the owner, and a grea guy. Half of the stuff in my tank came from his store.

The only things we don't really get are the LE frags because here they aren't limited edition! lots of stuff come in shipments weekly since they are mostly wild we don't see much of the super expensive brand new stuff but overall at least in the GTA (toronto area) we have a much better coral selection then the US. MUCH better pricing too.

The other thing would be we don't have the great fish selection you can pretty much get what you want but you may have to wait a while. Most of the stores around here sell mostly corals with few fish.

Put me on your email list and I will join in on your group drygoods order form J&L. My Ph kit bit the biscuit or I am running something like 14. I have used them before and very happy. I order Salt (RC) from Drs F&S and get it shipped to a place in the US 1 min south of the 49th. Price works out to a BOGO deal.

Use Salt Water Connection for my livestock - very pleased with my purchases so far. Local reefers for frags.

OP - Local reef boards are the best bet to hook up with local frags to help you out. great way to build your reef and one day you can return the favour. It's a Karma Thing :D

Ha, ha, someone resurrected this thread and reading thru it once again looks like I owe you some kind of answer! Several pet shops carry saltwater stuff in Vernon, but it's costly so many of us end up making trips to the coast or ordering online. Couple of shops in Kelowna as well, but same idea, limited selection and pricey. In Vernon there is AJ's Pets & Things and Complete Pet Mart, or maybe it's Pet Smart, not sure. Kelowna has a number of 'in' home type operations as well as Pet Smart (I think) and a little place called Pet City in the south end. They've had some nice corals on occasion, but I've never purchased anything there. At least they specialize in Aquaria whereas most of the others are big box all in one pet stores. All my corals have come from a local hobbyist in the form of frags, or as in the case of my zoanthus, magically appeared on my rock one day. I guess in the Kootenays the prices are even more scary. I usually spend a week in the backcountry either in the Rockies north of Golden or the Kootenays. Spent a week at Boulder Hut last year, that's actually the Selkirks, but need to travel via the Kootenays to get there.

I do my online orders (dry) through jlaquatics and buy locally from Aquarium Depot, Big Al's, and Strictly Fish in Georgetown. I'm interested in this new LFS in Orangeville. Anyone else have any experience with it?
Nick

I'm from Brampton too. I mainly buy my livestock from NAFB and all dry goods from big al's. Think i've been to almost every fish store in the GTA and surround areas.

BTW Aquarium Depot has shut down a long time now.

For anyone who used to shop at Aquarium Depot and thought it was closed.....He actually has moved to Hwy 50 and Ebenezer just north of Hwy 7.

I was there today and spent my rent money...........He had some Awesome stuff!!

It's called "Coral Reef aquariums" and he's alot cheaper than he used to be.

Moncton, New Brunswick here. I am a J&L Aquatics fan. If they don't have it, I don't need it, except for Profilux which irritates me to no end. We also have three new stores in NB and NS. Dereks Reef Shop, Atlantic Reef Store and Eastern Reef. All three offer on-line service and part time store front. There is also the Atlantic Region Reefers Group for local group activity. Just Google any of these and you will get to their home pages.

Only Maritimer, but not the only Atlantic-er:)

St. John's NL here. I mostly use J&L and MOPS, but have also used Ocean Aquatics, Pets and Ponds and a couple others for equipment/dry goods. Livestock is a lost cause in NL, they airlines think we're an island off the coast of Denmark or something.

2 International and 2 regional airports serving 500 000 people, you'd think you'd be able to get something shipped. Damn Air Canada monopoly!

Hey neighbour! I'm from Paradise, NL ... and for anyone not familiar with Newfieland, no its not warm in Paradise, its only a name unfortunatly haha... I agree, anything thats not made here is hard to get. BigRed, PM sent.

I'd love to go on, but the internet in my igloo is weak and I have to feed my pet polar bear...eh? ;)

Coralmaster.com <-- Best place for Frags in Canada IME

Fragalot.ca and Wickedfrags.com also have a nice selection

J&L is still the best place for dry goods, however Aquatic Addictions is close behind (AA had no website yet)

Thanks for that link! Coralmaster seems nice. Fragalot has AWFUL customer service. The guy is a foreigner I think and does not answer email at all. I used to buy frags from him but not anymore.

Hey, I'm from Saint John, NB. I like JL but shipping coast to coast is so expensive for live goods. Atlantic Reef Store in Moncton is my pick of the bunch in the area but it's a two hour drive, so I'll confess to buying some livestock from the SJ pets unlimited. I've had some decent luck and scored a couple of deals but they're mostly overpriced and the condition of their tanks scares me more than a bit.

It is nice to see this thread is still going strong.

By the way, any one in Ontario know of a good place to buy snails and hermit crabs online that will ship at a decent price?
Oceansdirect.ca is ok, but just has nassarius snails (margarita are for colder waters) and no hermits listed,
Aquavalley wants $75 for overnight shipping, which is a complete rip off compared to other companies.
Does any one know of any good ones with decent prices on the stock and decent ~$50 shipping?

Herbies was the name of a department type store in the mall where there is a pet store. the store was a petland store, but they recently sold all their reef equipment, dogs, and cats! kind of bizarre for a pet store! they had/may still have 150 gal tanks for $99 or $150 with sump. they weren't in the best condition though.

sealife central ehhh?
new store that im not aware of...looks like ill be doing some shopping this weekend...ha

I've bought stuff from Incredible and Fragalot, as well as Box of Water.
Incredible has lots of good dry goods selection lately, and reasonably priced. Box of Water has cheap livestock but mostly fish...I haven't been to their store in a while though.

Fragalot is good too, I've bought many a frag from Burc.

Excited about the new store...but their website sucks.

Fadelle Marine? There is an aquarium store in St. Mary's that sells saltwater? Crazy! I'll have to check them out sometime.

Ya...Reefperfection is online only. All his stuff is at his house. He used to have a warehouse, but then he moved out of there and just sells from his house now. Good guy to deal with though. I bought my skimmer from him, replacement bulbs, Fauna Marin stuff...The good thing about him is that if you have a problem you can just email or phone him and he will return the item or get a hold of the manufacturer for you, so customer service is good. But it seems like he hasn't updated his website in ages, so I think he is winding down...
