RO/DI unit is up and running...YAY!!! I would like to do a substantial water change on my 29aga; as before I was using strait RO @ 1ppm. What % of water volume is considered normally a safe volume? My total sump and DT is roughly 45gal.

Antonio,
I've heard of folks changing 50% and more at one time.

I wouldn't, but I'm not you.

I read some where on here of a 1 or 2 gallon water change every day leading to better health, clarity and a better balance of elements.

If your wanting to change because you used 1ppm ro water and now you have 0 ppm ro/di...I wouldn't go to dramatic, you'll get it almost all out over a week or two of a little every day.

I say do a normal water change that you usually do then 2 gallons every day.

Agreed. 1ppm doesn't warrant a big change.

Sounds good will do the norm and then 1 gal a day for a week.
Thanks!

Like everyone else said, you can do well over 50% water changes. If you're just looking to get the 1ppm RO water out, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just change water at the normal rate.
