I suppose this is only a problem for people with a larger tank, say over 100g, but what do you guys do to keep all the humidity, water vapor and salt, etc from damaging your wall or floor? I understand most of you might have some sort of air exchanger and stuff, if so what kind? what else do you do? I mean do you cover or paint your wall with something to protect it?

A decent coat of paint on the walls is all the protection you need.

Some people use mats on the floor, tile, etc. It's really more about cleaning up your splashes.

I would be more concerned about making sure your stand is properly waterproofed.

We hung FRP board on the walls and ceiling, we have a concrete floor, so we just stained it aqua-blue.
