High Alk demand ???

Lately, in my 125 mixed reef, I've found myself having to add approx 5 tsp baking soda per DAY to maintain Alk at around 8-9.......

Does this seem like a lot to anyone ????

All other parameters within tolerance. No sps other than a small plating monti....... a little hair algae........ nothing very serious...

I don't think that's unusual in a tank of that size.

I agree. Coralline algae can consume a very large amount of calcium and carbonate.
