Hi All,
I have an open top biocube 29g that needs a lighting system. I was thinking about trying one of these pendants in the 150W version. Have any of you tried one of these pendants? I cannot seem to find much info on them.

I just got one for my 12g aquapod and so far so good. Would prefer some factory legs instead of the hangng kit. So far i like it alot. I had a sunpod but i also wanted some actinics. The timers are silent and accurate, the fan isn't very loud, but im not a fan of the 10k bulb... i got a 14k 10 minutes after turning the light on. Got mine from marine depot they had the best price around.

do you think it has enough spread for the 29g biocube?

Update - Light should be here on the 3rd..........will post pics and updates, but there is currently nothing in my biocube ;)
On another note, those looking for a cheap nano tank with no lights (i.e. tank only) check out nanotuners.com I got my biocube 29g for $122 it comes with the stock filtration and no lights. After $150 shipping is free (or at least it was). Look under the "replacement tank" heading.

ilikelps ....although very nice especially with the T5's....is just a bit to long for the tank. Me personally, it would drive me nuts to see a light hanging over the sides of the tank.
But nice light though, wish it came in a 20"

Great! Thanks for the update. Also, dont mean to burst your bubble but MD has that light right now for 229 with free shipping. Maybe you can get your seller to get you a price match even through the sale has already been done.....Its worth a try

I was looking at one of these for a long time, the 250w version. Very expensive. It would work perfect with a rolling light rack. I have two Coralife pendants instead. Tell me if you want a link to these.

They are great for the price, they do not look all that good but the corals dont care.
New towel substrate and V.
I wanted a dim area around my tank for low light LPS and other low photo inverts. It does have a decent spread, SPS will be no problems close to the lamp.

Wow....that light is thick. Is that they 250W or the 150W?

Hey Tampa-reefer, what's size tank is that? Is a 150 watt fixture?

Both the 250w and 150w are big units. they are the same size except the 250w has an external ballast instead of internal.
I just got one from a fellow club member and it is heavy and thick. It weights around 15 pounds!!!!
Very nice light though, I really cant complain about it besides size. They could have made it slimmer and gotten the same effect.

love the substrate. and is that a new coral? I like the name "v".. :lolspin:
Seriously though, your light looks pretty sweet. Let's see it with the water and rocks in there!

It is a 150, they are pretty heavy as MikePowel has stated.
I do not love the looks but heck its 220 bucks for a combo light with a hanging kit.
I have a phoenix bulb in and it is also burned in.
The tank is a 40g breeder.
