I have discovered that snowflake eels are very slow witted and pose very little threat to small fish in the tank. It takes them so long to zero in on their prey, they end up striking at nothing. I would be more concerned with crustacions or fish that actually sleep.

That thing is quite rotund. :-)

great eel.I miss mine alot, had a great personality/demeanor.Mine was slightly shorter but still as fat.

mine only swam around when he was hungry, other than that he just poked his head out from under his rock.

never had him victimize anyone else in the tank, unless it was feeding time and even then it was accidental i believe

i loved mine too........but mine was decent size and boy was he aggressive!!! maybe i got a rare one with a bad attitude or something..........fed him well, and he still ate all my damsels and even took down a pretty good size maroon clown!!! good luck

I think they can get more aggressive (and more likely to eat fish) as they reach sexual maturity. Cash cow, yours may have reached that point. Or it could have just been an individual quirk. How big was it?
