BC29 HOB fuge question....

I'm adding a HOB from cpr. Would liverock only plus cheato be better than all that with sandbed? I'm thinking of doing all kinds of cheato with liverock, and no sandbed. Just wondering if you guys would think this is a better filtration. Thoughts?

If it were me I would just do chaeto, less rock shedding, scratches (If you were to ever sell it in the future), and weight (i.e. stress on the input and out, though it's minimal). Pods and all sorts of goodies live in there just fine and maintenance would be a little easier - Every time you take out the chaeto to harvest, you won't have to worry about yanking anything around with it.
