No more PFO! What should I do?

I am using a Radium SE 250w bulb with a PFO HQI 250w ballast. I really like the crisp Ice White blue color and the PAR seem to be stronger than most combinaitons.

But now that PFO is no longer making ballasts what ballast can I use with the Radium to get the same par and more importantly the white blue color, instead of just deep blue?

Also I understand the Radium 250w is made for HQI ballast but the Radium 400w is not. Is this true? Does anyone know for sure?

And of course the same question still holds true for the 400w. What ballast now?

Thanks in advance.

I run a 250w Radium on a SLS Bluewave 3 HQI & love it! I think you'll find the color very similar to the PFO - and it's got great PAR.

You're kidding me - PFO isn't making ballast anymore???

As was stated you have Hamilton and Sun Light Supply still.

The Radium 250W is made to be operated on an ANSI M80 ballast and the Radium "400W" (360W) is made to be fired by an ANSI M135/M155 ballast.

Yeah, PFO no longer does halides, just LED.

I have not opened up my PFO dual HQI case, but I am pretty sure that they did not manufacture the ballast anyways, I would expect it to ab an Advance or other common manufacturer of ballast.
There should be many places to source these if you just need the ballast or parts. If you need the box/heat sink, that may be a little different story but you should still be able to find something.

At any rate, I would expect that you can find used PFO magnetic ballasts out there pretty easily and reasonably priced.

Good luck

Ya, I called PFO, talked to a nice guy, He told me they are no longer making anything else becausethey make so much money on each LED fixture they sell, more than like 20 ballasts for every one LED. Profit driven.

Did you talk to them recently? There appear to be a few threads floating around right now where prople are having a hard time actually talking to anyone there, no email or pm replies, etc.
