my room has become a little on the fishy smelling side, and i was thinking of getting an air freshner to make it not smell as bad. I know ive read people saying they wouldnt use air freshners in the same room as their tank, but is there any they would?

Normally id just open the window some to let it air out, but since its winter, i dont want to freeze

Or should i avoid them all together and maybe burn a candle or something?

i do not use any air fresheners in my tanks room. i have never had a fishy smell. i would increase your carbon or change it out. i change my reactors carbon every 7 days

I personally am not the type to have air fresheners in the room with the tank, but as long as its not a spray type you will be ok, my wife uses the ones that burn oil and I haven't had any problems.

I don't use it. We do use soy candles in the adjacent kitchen with no problems.

I second the carbon suggestion. And running a carbon-based room air filter might also help you.

As Sk8r said.....soy candles, but I wouldn't use them in the room with the tank. IMO never use any scented candles, sprays or plug in units. The chemicals can leach into the water.
