They have various color phases in the wild; so a few common names refer to same fish.

Sorry for double post, touched enter on keyboard and it submitted post before ending it. Tried to delete but guess don't have access to do that.

Some yellow? All is possible in this world. Think they do color phasing only in the wild and rarely change colors once in tanks. Good luck with your puffer, think it's cute as is.

there are some color morphs from the solomon islands, black and dalmation (black and white) dogface puffers. I'm not sure about the yellow. the plain dogfaces are very nice and attractive, too.

Thanks LisaD,
How's the Dalmation doing?

great! thanks for asking. he's eating my corals in my 55 right now, and is very happy chewing up the shrooms and scraping the Porites with his teeth. I have to get the eel out of the 210 before I can put the puffer back. The 55 won't do for the long term, but he is okay for now.

I'm going out of town in the morning, will work on moving the eel and getting pictures of the puffer (I KNOW I am so lame) this weekend.
