I have a 46 gal bowfront with a 6x39watt t5 unit.
3 white and 3 actinic.

Question is what bulbs can I put in it to improve it and help cut down the algae growth?

Unless your bulbs are old, I don't think the color of bulbs has much of an effect on algae. Here is what I have for my 90 (6 x 54W).

Ati Blue +
Fiji Purple
Ati Aquablue
Blue +
Aqaublue

ATI, Giesemann, KZ, UVL are all good bulbs- do a search for "T5 Lamp PAR" and see the tests GrimReefer did on T5 lamps.

As for the algae, maybe the current lights have higher yellow spectrum, but I would look at your nutrient levels for the cause of your algae problems.
