Hi

I got home to find that my vortech was not operating. The driver was flashing red and another color that I don't remember. I unplugged it to restart it and the red light disappeared and began flashing the normal yellow light but the propeller did not spin, instead the entire wetside spun and became disconnected. I pulled the wetside out to inspect and the magnet has melted on to the backside of the wetside. This is the first time the vortech has given me trouble.

Please advise on what I need to do? I have already shot an email to service@ecotechmarine.com

Tim, its been 13 days since I got a response from Steve saying that my parts are on the way but I have not receive anything as of yet.

What shipping method is used to delivery the parts?

They were probably shipped via US mail which can be frustrating with respect to this. Please call Steve back and he will double check everything.

On a brand new pump? If so I am very sorry to hear this. Please call 610.954.8480 ext 106 and tell Steve about this. He will make arrangements to get you swapped out with a new pump right away.

I have the same problem with my MP40W although it is worse on mine. The wet side cover on mine has a huge hole in the center and the plastic has melted over the magnet. I sent them an email last Friday night but have yet to hear back from them. What was the fix with your pump?

Mine is one of the older MP40 that was upgraded a few months ago with the gen2 parts. I think I have the older spacer/washer that is a little bigger than the gen2.

The older spacer/washer will definitely cause the problem that you described. If you emailed service@ecotechmarine.com then Steve will be back in touch with you shortly.

I still have not received any parts as of yet. I sent an email (Thursday)to Steve but I have not heard back from him yet.

I waited this long to send the email because I thought it had only been two weeks, but when I checked my last email I received from Steve, it was January 27 which he said it was out in the mail. So it's been one month and one week and counting.

Can I just pay for shipping so I don't have to wait this long for some parts?

Tim I finally got my replacement parts, thank you!

I have a few questions.. I notice the replacement parts you sent me is totally different from the vortech mp40w that I bought.

1. Are these updated parts?
2. Do I still need to add the washer (the washer was not provided, so I don't know if it's still essential) that goes in between the magnet and the wet frame?

1) Yes, you will always receive the latest parts from us for any service request even if you had an older model.
2) Yes, the washer is still very important, please move this from your old assembly to the new one.
