octo 200 extreme-- bad noises

the pump is making grinding noises! I read the thread about using sandpaper on the pin wheel and it still makes noises... like something is vibrating. its loudddd! any ideas?

Make sure the retainer clip was placed tightly in place. This is with the pin wheel right? Also make sure the skimmer is not rubbing up side anything in your sump.

yes pin wheel. i took everything apart and it seems to be fine! it took a few times to do it but its good now. just a little noise but its better.

Next time you take it apart make sure the pin wheel spins freely no stick what-so ever. I would also suggest to slightly sand the bottom were the magnet and the impeller meet. Oddly with these pumps, the slightest restriction will cause noise.

i will do that if it gets louder, i just dont wanna mess with it now since its much more quiet. Thank you!
