Hey guys,

One quick question: will a 4x24 watt t5ho fixture produce more heat than a 2x65 watt power compact fixture? (I know fans will resolve this)

Thanks!

Mine is nice and cool. Even the metal on the fixture is cool to the touch.

I have a 4X24 Nova Extreme, which actually does raise the temp of my tank up to around 82 if my house is at 75. The Nova does have a (noisy) fan.

At night the temp is 77.9 almost always on the dot, according to my time-n-temp-- and I have my heater set at 78, so it's about right.

I added a small fan to blow across the tank, and I have it set to come on when the lights do. Temp stays stable around 78 then.

But I also evaporate water like mad.

The 4 x 24W will make 96W of heat. The 2 x 65W will make 130W of heat.
